Robert Lustig on Diane Rehms Show

Hot on the heels of the publication of Fat Chance, Diane Rehms interviews Robert Lustig for nearly an hour on his new book and the theories that underlie it.

Lustig is in familiar form during his interview, and covers and expounds on the high points that may be familiar to you from his viral video, Sugar: The Bitter Truth.

All in all, it’s a great interview. My favorite part is towards the end, where a dietitian calls in with the claim that weight loss all really boils down to “eat less, move more”. Lustig opens his response with, “Mam, I couldn’t disagree with you more….” and goes on to excoriate her for Luddite and dangerous thinking about nutrition.
